Bombaat

Cast: Ganesh, Ramya
Direction: Rajendra Babu
Production: Rockline Venkatesh
Music: Mano Murthy

Yuga

Cast: Vijay, Kavya, Sudha Belawadi, Mico Nagaraj, Mahadevu
Direction: Chandra
Music: Arjun

He is a ruffian. Robust in build! Ugly in looks! Terror to trouble shooters! He can put down tormentors who come from any direction. He can rise above the ground and use his two legs to hit at the prominent nerve at the neck. That is 'Yuga'. The orphan child grows in slum and streets make it a point to earn money. Money is everything for him. Morality is next to him. Because he has been treated shabbily in life.

Yuga (Vijay) with his group takes revenge on the prominent underworld don Pai in Mangalore. He did not expect the danger would be so strong for him. The police in an encounter to this killing by Yuga shoot him in the stomach. He escapes from there and in an isolated house he gets treatment. He is advised to stay there for ten days as the hunt to put him down is going on everywhere. Yuga does according to his master.

In his 10 days stay in the rural doctor house he knows what affection is and how important it is to life. He meets Harini (Kavya) who is suffering from severe bronchitis in this village. The bail application is ready for Yuga and he is forced to leave the village and surrender. Back after bail Yuga has real problems shooting up. The Pai gang from Mangalore hatches a plot. Around this time his mentor needs his help to win the election.

What happens to Yuga in the stiff opposition from Pai gang? You want to know it. Go and watch this action feast.

In his debut director Chandra has worked on the scenes not on the story. His screenplay is tight and appealing to the front benchers.

Dhuniya Vijay action scenes are splendid. His front and back somersaults and strength in action is the redeeming feature of this film. He has to improve in dialogue deliver and make an attempt to look decent. Kavya has no big deal in her debut. Sudha Belawadi's controlled emotion is as usual best.

The second notable aspect of this film is cinematography by Veenus Murthy. The angles he has chosen the action scenes he has captured deserves him applaud. Two songs are OK in 'Yuga'.

A film for action lovers 'Yuga' showcases actor Vijay's capacity in electrifying stunts.

Varsha

Cast: Vishnuvardhan, Manya, Ramesh Arvind, Anu Prabhakar, Doddanna, Sreenivasa Murthy, Shobharaj, Lakshman, Komal
Direction: S.Narayan
Production: Rockline Venkatesh
Music: S.A.Raj Kumar

Producer Rockline Venkatesh and Director S.Narayan had promised that their new venture "Varsha" will be a treat to watch for the Vishnuvardhan fans.

They have kept up their promise and the well made film will certainly prove to be a worth watcher for Vishnu's fans and his large following of the female audience who want to see him in emotional roles.

Director S.Narayan who has taken the additional responsibility of writing the lyrics and dialogues of the film has recreated the magic he had done previously in the four films he has worked with the Kannada Super Star.

The Vishnu and S.Narayan combination has delivered great results in the box office. The saga started with the hit film "Veerappa Naayaka" which had a patriotic flavor as the main focus. The mantra was followed in two silver jubilee hits- "Suryavamsha" and "Simhaadhriya Simha". Another hit film of this combination is "Jameendhaarru" in which Vishnu had acted in dual role "Varsha" does not belie the expectations it had raised before its release and will prove to be a continuous saga of a fruitful combination.

Thankfully "Varsha" has all the commercial ingredients in right proportion. All the sequences in the film with ingredients like emotions, comedy, action are quite touching and entertaining.

"Varsha" is the remake of Malayalam Hit "Hitler" which had Mammootty and Shobhana in the lead. Later Telugu Super Star Chiranjeevi acted in the film's Telugu remake to revive his then flagging career. The movie has been remade in Hindi and Tamil without success mainly due to bad casting and pedestrian narration. "Varsha" is the fifth version of the same story, but still manages to work well because of good production values, technical expertise and a neat performance by all the artists. S.Narayan makes some changes from the original, but it fits well with the present day trend of narration.

"Varsha" is as much a Narayan film as it is a Vishnuvardhan film. The casting for this film is perfect. The sisters look fresh on the screen, but they have played their parts to perfection. All of them are trained tele artists, except Anu Prabhakar who is an established heroine in the Kannada film industry. S.Narayan has presented his hero quite differently in this film. The hero of the film is presented not as just a short tempered human being but as a possessive and protective brother of five sisters and other two sisters born out of the wedlock of his father and his second wife. .

The film is a healthy mix of comedy, sentiment and action sequences. While Vishnuvardhan proves his mettle in emotional and action sequences, the comedy portion has worked out well because of talented artists like Ramesh, Komal, and Tennis Krishna. .

Vishnuvardhan comes out best in portraying the emotions in the film. The action sequences in the film will certainly please his fans. Multilingual actress Maanya has proved her merit as a tomboyish girl who is in love with Vishnuvardhan.

Ramesh and Komal make a good combination and the film will be a big boost to their careers. All other artists including Sreenivaasa Murthy, Anu Prabhakar, Shwetha Chengappa, Ramesh Bhat and Doddanna have given their best.

Music Director S.A.Raj Kumar has done well in composing melodious songs and his re recoding job for the film is excellent. Cameraman P.K.H.Doss and editor Soundar Rajan have once again proved their mettle. "Vasanthi Vasanthi", "Ikku Maga" and "Kanneerige Kanneereke"

Jolly Days

Banner: Young Dreams Production
Cast: Vishwas, Deepu, Pravin, Niranjan, Aishwarya Nag, Ruthwa, Spoorthi, Keerthi, Ruthika, Suchindra Prasad, Kishori Ballal, Sriraghav
Direction: MD Sridhar
Production: Madi Reddy Param
Music: Mickey J Mayoor

Director M.D. Sreedhar has a good track record of directing remakes and "Jolly Days" provides him another platform to prove that he remains faithful to the original script.

A remake of Telugu hit "Happy Days", the Kannada version stars a number of fresh faces. The original by director Shekhar Kammula, who also introduced new actors, became a sensational hit because of the novelty in presentation and the enjoyable doses of humour in the narration.

Sreedhar hasn't made any alterations to the script and has just followed the one laid down by Kammula. Even the dialogues written by B.A. Madhu seem like the direct translation from the dialogues of the Telugu original.

Sreedhar, who has directed successful remakes like "Friends", "Krishna" and "Chellaata" earlier, has proved again that he has perfected the art of making remakes. He has carefully chosen the actors to suit the physique and appearance of the artists of "Happy Days". Even the body language remains the same for all the characters. Except for the change of locations, it looks very much like the Telugu "Happy Days".

"Jolly Days" is an engaging film without a dull moment. It recreates the happy memories of one's college days. The sequences are written in such a way that you take a trip down memory lane. Music compositions are soothing and suit the narrative.

The film revolves around eight youngsters, who spend four years together in an engineering college. At times, the narration reminds one of Kannada film "Moggina Manasu", which had dealt with the problems of four young girls. But the high point of this film is that every sequence looks natural.

The newcomers have done well and have all chances of establishing themselves as good actors in future. Aishwarya Nag has done a better job here than in her previous film "Neene Neene".

Cameraman Krishna Kumar's work deserves praise and Micky J. Meyer's compositions are similar to the ones in the original.

"Jolly Days" is a jolly good film. Watch it and revive your memories of college days.

3 Guttu Ondhu Sullu Ondhu Nija - Online Movie

Cast: Ramesh Aravind, Komal Kumar, Nancy Thakkar, Nandini, Sudha Belawadi, Sharan
Direction: Dinesh Baboo
Production: D Venkatesh Naidu, Rajeev K
Music: Suma Shastry

Intelligent director and fabulous cameraman Dinesh Baboo known for good thinking of subjects and hilarious style of presentation gives a passable film. The final punch that comes from Ramesh Aravind – a very good emotional performance is the touching portion of this film.

For the sagging box office results a craftsman like Dinesh Baboo excel because he makes the film in shoe string budget and not go beyond a limit. When such careful attempts are made the films would not suffer badly in the box office. ‘3 Guttu Ondhu Sullu and Ondhu Nija’ is a film in that category. Dinesh Baboo proved his mettle from ‘Mr Garagasa’ and now gaining ground with this tidy project.

In the family of father, mother a son and three daughters the ticklish moment starts surfacing when the parents go for a pilgrimage tour. The eldest of the family Siddhu and two of his sisters have plans to invite their girl and boy friends respectively. But the little one in the family is having the ailment of sleep walking. The entire film is set in 24 hours and from the evening the parents leave for pilgrimage tour sudden developments crops us. For the new entrants the three in the family keep tight secrecy. But the entry of aunty in the house and Appu (Ramesh Aravind) give more stressing moments for the hide and seek game plan of Siddu and his two sisters.

What is the purpose of Appu and whether he wins in his mission, the truth is unveiled the false is admitted and three secrets developments in the family are revealed? You have to watch it in the theatre for a very emotional journey from comedy angle in the beginning and middle of the film.

Ramesh Aravind with Mandya style of dialect wins over everyone for his presence and performance. The climax is extraordinary and it is performed so beautifully by Ramesh Aravind. Komalkumar known for side kicks has given absorbing moments. Ashalatha shouts a lot. Nancy Thakkar looks glamorous. Baby Shreya is too good.

The cinematography handled by director Dinesh Baboo is adequate and the entire house is showcased brilliantly. One song scored by Suma Shastry in her debut film is very catchy. LN Shastry has sung this song that is not the usual kind of song.

Veera Madakari Online - Sudeep Kannada Online

Actor-director Sudeep's new film "Veera Madakari" is a remake of Telugu hit "Vikramarkudu" that was directed by Rajamouli, but the expectations were high as he is known for creating successful remakes.

Not only does Sudeep play two different roles, he also lends his voice to the the popular song "Jink Thaka". But he has not tried to be innovative while making this film.

Sudeep has in no way diluted the impact of the original script and has remained faithful to the Telugu movie.

The high points of "Veera Madakari" are the songs, the way they have been choreographed and Sudeep's performance in two diverse roles. But "Veera Madakari" has its share of negative points, the first being its three-hour length. Also, the first half has a few dragging moments that diminishes its appeal.

Sudeep's voice and body language are perfect for the role of a dynamic assistant commissioner of police, but he might have looked better if he had put on a little weight.

The film is almost a carbon copy of "Vikramarkudu". Even the choice of locations in the second half are the same. The songs too are the same Keervani composed for the Telugu movie.

While Sudeep could have experimented more as a director, he has done exceptional work as an actor.

In "Veera Madakari", Muththeththi Sathyaraju is a compulsive fraudster, but he is suddenly saddled with a child left behind by a rich lady. Circumstances force Sathyaraju to tell people that the child is his own, which leads to a miunderstanding with his lady love Neeraja.

Sathyaraju later comes to know that there is a police officer, Madakari, who happens to be his look-alike and is in hospital for treatment.

Babji is the main villain who uses his clout in politics and the underworld to terrorise villagers. Madakari takes on Babji, tries to check his illegal activities and even kills the villain's son.

There are some situations when Sathyaraju steps into Madakari's shoes and sets out to nab the evil guys.

Apart from Sudeep's performance, another plus point in the film is young Jerusha Christopher, who plays the small girl. Newcomer Raagini is impressive as a heroine. Gopinath and Soori, who play villains, don't do much except for shouting in the film.

Tennis Krishna, Dharma and Dinesh Gandhi have also done a good job.

"Veera Madakari" is an enjoyable film as long as you have not seen the Telugu original.
