Chamkaisi Chindi Udayisi

Chamkaisi Chindi Udayisi

Nobody expected that Komal Kumar's most ambitious film 'Chamkaisi Chindi Udaisi' would not only turn an average fare but a mindless comedy which has nothing new to offer.

'Chamkaisi Chindi Udaisi' is inspired from the English hit 'Something about Mary'. However Komal has added his own bits to give himself more mileage as a hero. Komal has fulfilled his long cherished dream of becoming a mass hero through this film. The story is about Seenu (Komal) who falls in love with a girl called Kamala. But he is disappointed when the girl leaves for Malaysia. Meanwhile, another person finances Seenu to fly over to Malaysia to collect details about a girl (once again the same Kamala!). Seenu traces Kamala in Malaysia and bluffs that he is an architect. Meanwhile, Ganesh also comes to Malaysia in search of Seenu and Kamala. By now Seenu is deeply in love with her. What happens next forms the crux of the film.

Though the film is a comedy, its major drawback is its script and narration. The film sure has its share of some enjoyable and fun filled moments, but the rest is boring as well as lagging. The film fails miserably in engaging the audience particularly in the second half. Even actors like Komal and Sharan couldn't save the film, thanks to an uninteresting script written by Komal himself.

It's a treat to watch Ashok Kashyap's camera work particularly in the songs. Other than the cinematography, the only thing likeable is Komal's acting. Komal carries the film entirely on his shoulders. Nidhi Subbaiah looks glamorous in songs. Sharan, Rahul, Asif Farooqi, Shobharaj, Kiran and others though have done their bit has nothing much to do to in front of Komal.

Overall, 'Chamkaisi Chindi Udaisi' is an average film. Watch it if you are a Komal fan.
